You don't need to go far from Atlantic City's balmy, breezy beaches to find the best place on the mid-Atlantic coast for windsurfing and kitesurfing. The center of it all is Extreme Windsurfing, which includes a school and a "demo center" where you can "try before you buy".
Situated on one of the top ten most consistently windy sites Lakes Bay, Extreme Windsurfing features a sandy beach, shallow water with no current or boat traffic, a 300-foot deck, snack bar, on-site storage lockers, and full service shop.

Windsurfing is also permitted at the Jackson Ave. beach in Atlantic City. No lifeguards are provided at Jackson Ave. This is a no bathing zone designated for Kayaking & Windsurfing only. There are no rentals at this location so you must bring your own equipment.

- Restrooms are located along the Boardwalk at Bartram Avenue, at Albany, Chelsea, New York, New Hampshire and Caspian avenues, at Kennedy Plaza at Mississippi Avenue, and at the Garden Pier at New Jersey Avenue.
- Showers are located at Lifeguard District Stations and at Bartram, Albany, Chelsea, Texas, Mississippi, Michigan, Kentucky, South Carolina, States, New Hampshire and Caspian avenues, and at Casino Beaches. City changing booths are located at Albany and South Carolina Avenues.
- Parking:
- Side street meter parking is available for 25 cents per hour outside of casino areas. Private lots charge $5 to $10 per hour.
- Lifeguards:
- Lifeguards are on duty from 10am to 6pm from Memorial Day through Sept. 30.
- Access for Visitors with Disabilities:
- Ramps are located at Bartram, Annapolis, Albany, Providence, Chelsea, Iowa, Michigan, Kentucky, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Hampshire avenues, and between Missouri and Columbia avenues.
- Restrooms that are ADA compliant are available at Caspian Avenue. Beach wheelchairs are available for free on a first come-first served basis. Visitors can arrange to obtain them by calling (609) 347-5312.
- Food:
- Grilling is allowed on beaches only on Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day. Charcoal grilling is the only type permitted. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted.
- Additional Info:
- Surfing is permitted at Crystal Beach at New Hampshire Avenue, the Delaware Avenue Beach and the Downtown Beach at Raleigh Avenue. Kayaking and windsurfing is permitted at Jackson Avenue. Boogie boarding with leashes is permitted at all beaches, ocean conditions permitting. Ball playing and animals are prohibited.
