Boasting the slogan “One Name Says It All,” this casino is one of the many owned by “the Donald” in Atlantic City and is situated centrally on the Boardwalk, dominating the block between Florida and Mississippi Ave. The Plaza’s narrow 39-story hotel tower stretches skyward and is branded with sparkly red lettering at its peak, like the star on a Christmas tree, letting all of Atlantic City know who its proud owner is. The casino itself is significantly shorter and squatter, and its gaudy gold signage, flashing lights, sprawling parking deck, and outdoor décor leading into the lobby area exude the predictable luminescence that you would expect from any Chevy Chase movie set-casino. As with all of Trump’s casinos, everything in its vicinity reeks of “top-notch, world-class, and hottest” everything -- from the filet at Max’s Steak House, entertainment provided by popular comedians, and scantily clad cocktail waitresses bouncing around the gaming floor, balancing trays overflowing with Jagerbombs. And of course, there is the famed outdoor Beach Bar (open seasonally, weather permitting) located outdoors on a boardwalk extension with gazebos and mini-cabanas right in the sand. The hotel has a variety of rooms, ranging in price from 500 sq ft Executive Suite to the multi-room Penthouse with a killer ocean view. And as with all decent casinos, the Plaza is equipped with an 80º F Olympic sized swimming pool and spa containing a steam room, skin care center, salon, and of course tanning beds -- in case you couldn’t steal yourself away from the Black Jack table long enough to get some sun during the day.
