1. Free Mardi Gras on the Boardwalk Concert Series: Head to the Kennedy Plaza stage for a tribute to Fats Domino on Sunday September 5th. 2. Atlantic City Comedy Festival: The Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall presents the Atlantic City Comedy Festival, taking place on Friday September 3rd and Saturday September 4th. 3. Night at the Movies: Watch Forrest Gump projected onto a huge screen Kennedy Plaza on Sunday September 5th. The show starts at 8pm, but get there early as it gets crowded. This event is free! For more information, call: 609-344-8338

4. Revolutionary War Encampment - Historic Cold Spring Village: On Saturday September 4th and Sunday September 5th, come to the Historic Cold Spring Village in Cape May to Celebrate Labor Day while experiencing the American Revolution. Living history encampments, artillery, exhibits, and authentic costuming. Events take place between 10am to 4:30pm and admission is $6-$8. For more information, visit: www.hcsv.org

5. Providence Nightclub's Labor Day Bash with DJ Camilo & C-Lo: This is pegged as Atlantic City's top Labor Day event! 9. Casbah Nightclub at Trump: On Saturday September 4th, head to Casbah Nightclub to see Mickey Avalon, DJ Eddie Edge, DJ Yan, DJ Gerald Thomas and host, MC Ringo. 10. Head to the Beach: Since Atlantic City's beaches are not the most glorious that the Jersey Shore has to offer, so take a short drive or cab ride to the clean and expansive beaches of nearby Margate, Ventnor, or Brigantine. These shore towns are more populated with families, seasonal renters, and young people as opposed to the occasionally seedy clientele of downtown Atlantic City. These beaches are more traditional — the ice cream man will frequently stop at your block offering Screwballs and DoubleFudges, and you'll certainly expect to be harassed by beach taggers demanding a small fee in exchange for day pass — but, at such a short distance away, the quality of the surrounding beach's sandy plains and the salty sea are exponentially better than what Atlantic City offers its clientele.
