Atlantic City's boardwalk provides a feast for the senses for every style of shopper, from those seeking designer and upscale boutique items, to those searching for souvenirs, bargain items, or tasty treats. Along the length of this historic stretch of wooden planks (the world's first boardwalk) on the Atlantic shore are a variety of recognizable names plus local specialty shops to suit every taste.
Bargain-hunters will love the AC Outlets, also known as "The Walk," at Michigan and Arctic Avenues. Designer brands offered at discount prices here include Tommy Hilfiger, Nautica, and Banana Republic. For window shoppers or those less concerned with budget, the Pier at Caesars offers an elegant and unique ambiance with an elaborate "water show" fountain and artificial beach. The water show stretches from the ground to third floor and is viewable by balconies on all three levels. The impressive fountain moves in sync with music and lights, putting on a show for shoppers hourly, and is the world's largest indoor fountain matrix. The beach, located in front of the floor to ceiling windows, features loungers for visitors to kick back and enjoy the view. Stores at the Pier include Tiffany & Co., Louis Vuitton, Burberry, and It's Sugar – a huge candy store where families and kids can create their own chocolate bars.
For a more local, down-home flavor, Boardwalk visitors can head to James's Salt Water Taffy at 1519 Boardwalk. This chewy treat was first created in AC in the late 19th century and has since become an AC and Jersey Shore favorite. For additional mouth-watering sweets, head to Steel's Fudge, which has two locations on the Boardwalk that feature homemade fudge in a variety of flavors, plus other homemade goodies including cookies and candy.
