Take a break from gambling (or blow all of that money you've just won!) at The Walk. South Jersey Magazine rated this outstanding collection of outlet shops 2008's Best Shopping Center of the Year -- and rightfully so. This retail haven runs along the four blocks of Michigan Avenue between perpendicular Baltic Avenue and Atlantic Avenue. This strip is host to over 75 stores, including Aldo, Banana Republic, BCBG Maxazria, Brooks Brothers, Calvin Klein, Coach, Converse, Eddie Bauer, Fossil, Guess, Gypsy Rose, H&M, J. Crew, IZOD, Kenneth Cole, Jones New York, Maidenform, Nike, Old Navy, Pac Sun, Polo Ralph Lauren, Sketchers, Timberland, Tommy Hilfiger, Wilson's Leather, and Zoo York. The Walk prevents hordes of South Jersey residents from having to trek westward to the King of Prussia Mall in order to splurge -- and not only do these outlets save the surrounding residents gas money, but since these stores are mostly factory owned, the prices are often much lower than in competing malls. Cheaper Atlantic City dining options are also scattered throughout this strip, including Subway, Ruby Tuesdays, Applebee's, and the Cavo Crepe Café. Also included in The Walk is the 40/40 Club, the plasma screen-clad sports bar and cigar lounge owned by rapper Jay-Z, situated right on the corner of Christopher Columbus Blvd and Atlantic Avenue.
It is common for The Walk to host sidewalk sales and outdoor shopping events during high-volume, holiday weekends. On the first Wednesday of each month, a variety of discounts, free gifts, and giveaways are available at participating stores. Gift certificates for The Walk are available for purchase at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Cheap and safe parking is available on Fairmount Avenue, just south of the shopping center, with complimentary shuttle service for your shopping convenience.
