Kick off the holidays at the 3rd Annual Pops Goes the Holiday Season event on Saturday, December 3rd, 2011. What better way to get into the holiday spirit then to join the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, Keith Lockhart, and thousands of your closest friends on the Christian Science Plaza as they attempt to set the World Record for the largest caroling group!

Artistic Director Harry Christophers returns to Symphony Hall to lead the Handel and Haydn Society’s Period Instrument Orchestra and Chorus in Handel’s Messiah in the 158th continuous year of performance since H&H began programming the work annually in 1854. H&H presented the work to sold-out audiences in 2010, and this season features a stellar collection of North American talents.
The 157th annual performance will take place on December 2nd, 3rd, & 4th, 2011 and will be broadcast by Classical New England.

The historic Old North Church, 195 Salem Street in Boston’s North End, will hold its annual Christmas Concert on Sunday, December 11th, 2011 at 5pm The Old North Chamber Singers and Orchestra will present Antonio Vivaldi’s “Gloria” and Johann Pachelbel’s “Magnificat.”
The Church’s renowned music director and organist, Dr. Libor Dudas will conduct. Dudas has conducted choral works and performed organ concerts across Europe and the United States. This “Gloria” by Vivaldi is rarely performed. - View Event >

Bundle up and join the line early to ensure a seat Trinity’s service of Christmas lessons, carols, and anthems, A Boston tradition since 1909, come celebrate the birth of Christ through music offered by the choirs of Trinity Church, including works by Britten, Rutter, Biebl, and others. The Boston Gay Men's Chorus celebrates the tradition, magic and fun of holiday nights at their annual holiday concerts taking place on Sunday, December 11th at 3pm, Friday, December 16th at 8pm, Saturday, December 17th at 8pm, and Monday, December 19th t 8pm.
