With its close proximity to the North End, the Boston Waterfront, and the financial district, the cobblestone walkways and multitude of restaurants and shops in Faneuil Hall Marketplace exude an infectious energy not replicated in any other part of the city. This lively marketplace is made up of three 19th-century buildings – the South Market, the North Market, and Quincy Market. Each building houses a variety of stores and eateries guaranteed to keep eager shoppers on their feet all day long. Faneuil Hall's colorful street performers, many outdoor cafes, and famous tree lighting festival held in November, keep this bustling shopping mecca festive every day.

The shops at Faneuil Hall range from well-known retail stores such as Victoria's Secret, Urban Outfitters, and Abercrombie & Fitch to local artisans and craftsmen showcasing their talents at the Bull Market, located along the main walkway under the Quincy Market canopies and featuring wooden pushcarts selling souvenirs and novelty items. No matter the season, unleash your inner child at Christmas in New England – where you can get a healthy dose of festivity and good cheer any time of the year. Or, wander amongst vibrant purples, pinks, and yellows in the peaceful greenhouse of Exotic Flowers. Being a key tourist destination, Faneuil Hall also has an information booth in the center, and sells tickets to many different trolley and duck tours.

After a long day of shopping, sit down and relax at one of the many different restaurants in the area. In addition to the extensive food court inside Quincy Market, stop by Durgin Park for an old-fashioned New England meal of seafood or broiled meat, or venture one block away to the Union Oyster House. Established in 1826, this charming seafood eatery is America's oldest restaurant and a National Historic Landmark. And they serve a mean bowl of clam chow-dah.
