In the center of the city stands the 574 foot Carew Tower, one of the Cincinnati's tallest buildings and a landmark for over 70 years.
The tower's construction and development began during the Great Depression. Since its completion, the Carew Tower has been used for various offices, hotels, and malls. Sitting at the top is one of Cincinnati's best-kept secrets, the observation deck. For only two dollars, it is one of the city's most affordable thrills.
Visitors can reach the observation deck by taking a speedy elevator up 45 stories. Be cautious however, because the lift moves quickly! When reaching the 45th floor, a smaller lift goes up to the 48th floor, where a steel staircase leads visitors the rest of the way up.
Traveling up the 49 levels is worth the time. This immediately becomes evident when visitors step onto the observation deck and witness the breathtaking view. Here, you can see for miles in any direction, including an enchanting scene from across the Ohio River into northern Kentucky. Don't forget to look down to see a picturesque view of Fountain Square.
Visit on a clear day to see a gorgeous sunset, or take a romantic trip at night to view the amazing skyline and the many lights all over the city.
