- The Newport Oktoberfest is promised to be the most authentic Oktoberfest in the area, taking place over the weekend of September 23rd - 25th, 2011 on the Newport Riverfront. The event will be in the Munich Oktoberfest style of large Fest Tents sponsored by German Beer Breweries. Each tent will have food, beer and music. Participating restaurants include Wertheim’s and others. There will also be continuous live German entertainment.

- Enter the world of the supernatural with visits to some of the area’s famous ghostly haunts during the Heritage Museum's Hauntings of Greater Cincinnati Tour on Friday, October 7th, 2011 from 9am - 5pm. At Bob Mackey’s nightclub, hear the tragic tale of the ghosts of headless Pearl Bryant and her lover, a man sporting a rope around his neck. Explore historic sites on both sides of the Ohio River to hear of past and present apparitions. Visit two houses in Covington where long-dead inhabitants continue to enjoy their surroundings.

Paw-rade begins in Goebel Park at 2:30 p.m. Lucy, the Mayor of Rabbit Hash, Kentucky is the Grand Marshall of the Paw-rade. The event will feature booths, pet portraits, games, an agility course & more. Registration fee is $5 and proceeds benefit U-Can and Rescue Angels, Inc.
