  • The Newport Oktoberfest is promised to be the most authentic Oktoberfest in the area, taking place over the weekend of September 23rd - 25th, 2011 on the Newport Riverfront. The event will be in the Munich Oktoberfest style of large Fest Tents sponsored by German Beer Breweries. Each tent will have food, beer and music. Participating restaurants include Wertheim’s and others. There will also be continuous live German entertainment.

  • The Fountain Square Turkey Bowl is set for Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011 from 11:30am – 1:30pm. Wondering what Turkey Bowl is? You can bowl frozen turkeys on the Fountain Square ice rink, because it’s silly and fun and supports a good cause. The person who knocks down the most bowling pins in three throws will win $50 cash, a DVD of the classic “Turkeys Away” episode of WKRP in Cincinnati, and a trophy. In 2010, nearly 150 people participated, and James Weiler of South Fairmount won with a score of 20 out of 30.

  • Cincinnati International Wine FestivalCincinnati International Wine Festival, the Midwest’s premier wine festival, will feature more than 600 domestic and international wines from over 100 exhibitors. The event will take place from March 8th through 20th, 2012. The Wine Festival's Main Event, The Grand Tasting, is set for March 9th & 10th, 2012 at the Duke Energy Convention Center. More than 600 wines from over 100 wineries are available to sample, while guests enjoy live music, delicious food and a silent auction. The Grand Tastings are truly the centerpiece of the Cincinnati International Wine Festival.
