Tower Place Mall and the Carew Tower Arcade perfectly represent that timeless downtown activity - shopping. The Arcade evokes the heyday of bustling downtowns with its Art Deco stylings and vintage Rookwood Pottery tiling, while Tower Place Mall provides a modern feeling with an open three-story atrium and bustling food court.

You can find these connected shopping destinations on the first floor of Cincinnati's Carew Tower, just across the street from Fountain Square. The Arcade is a straight shot through the building with shops on both sides and a hallway leading into the Mall. Weekdays will find the mall full of downtowners grabbing lunch at Soho Sushi's build-your-own-roll bar, or one of the more traditional fast food options (Gold Star, Sbarro, Chinese, Japanese, etc.). This lunch break is easily combined with a quick shopping run, whether you need your phone looked at (Cincinnati Bell and T-Mobile both have storefronts) – or want to buy a hometown souvenir (the I Love Cincinnati Shoppe Big night out? The eyebrow boutique, hair and nail salons, Victoria's Secret store, and shoe and formal attire shops should have everything you need to get ready, and the Dakota Watch Company will make sure you're running on time.

The Arcade is also an entrance into non-shopping destinations. The Gym at Carew Tower is located in the basement, conveniently located for busy professionals. Out-of-towners looking for luxury digs should consider the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza and the 4-diamond rated Orchids at Palm Court restaurant. After hours, the main destination is the Havana Martini Club. Skywalks on the second floor connect the Mall and Arcade with the surrounding buildings, including Fountain Place and Saks Fifth Avenue, and while you're there, it's worth taking the elevator up to Carew Tower's top floor observation deck for an unbeatable view of the city.
