Stop Congress from Limiting Online Freedom

January 18, 2012 in News by Ramona Quincey

Today, Blackout! SOPA protests (See Google homepage image below) hit the Web to raise awareness of two bills in congress: H.R.3261 “Stop Online Piracy Act” and S.968 “PROTECT IP”, which could radically change the landscape of the Internet. These bills provide overly broad mechanisms for enforcement of copyright which would restrict innovation and threaten the existence of websites with user-submitted content.

Help Google, Facebook, Twitter, Zynga, eBay, Mozilla, Yahoo, AOL, LinkedIn, Reddit, Yahoo, Wikipedia & many more prevent these bills from becoming reality. Sign the petition here: sopastrike.com/modal/strike-modal/index.html

Want to learn more about how SOPA would affect you? Here’s a great article that breaks it down: news.cnet.com/8301-31921_3-57329001-281/how-sopa-would-affect-you-faq/
