Paradise Cove—the name perfectly illustrates the destination. Soft sand stretches along the coastline, flanked by cliffs and luxurious Malibu beach houses. Pacific Coast Highway follows the shore running east to west in this area, resulting in idyllic sunsets from every direction. What used to be a simple stretch of picturesque coastline has become one of the most famous beaches in California, due in large part to its frequent use as a television and movie set location. For years, Paradise Cove has provided the setting for some of Hollywood's most recognizable beach scenes ranging from Gidget to The OC. The repeated use of this stretch of coast stands as a testament to its beauty—the ideal California setting as seen on TV.

Wiggle your toes in the sand as you treat yourself to a refreshing Guava mojito or Bananarama Tini (Lahaina dark rum, blackberry brandy, banana liquor, pineapple juice, and orgeat syrup) at Bob Morris's Paradise Cove Café. The restaurant overlooks the ocean and offers indoor and outdoor seating, as well as an impressive drink menu and delicious options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Parking at Paradise Cove costs 20 dollars, but the restaurant will validate free parking for the first three hours. Many people park along the highway and walk to the beachfront, but there is still a walk-in fee of five dollars. This may seem like a steep price to park, but the possibility of celebrity sightings, the fame of the beach, and the striking scenery keeps crowds coming.
