Although most familiar as home to the Anaheim Ducks professional hockey team, Honda Center of Anaheim delights visitors as a favorite venue for concerts and classic entertainment. It opened in 1993 as a state-of-the-art facility where every seat brings visitors close to the action. At Stanley Cup playoffs time, Honda Center gives new meaning to the term "home-court advantage"—the Anaheim Ducks have yet to lose a Stanley Cup Finals playoff match here.
This versatile venue showcases more than just hockey. In addition to college basketball's John Wooden Classic, Honda Center has hosted NCAA regional tournament action. Or, if you prefer activities with four-legged animals, Honda Center makes room for the Professional Bull Rider's Association. Since 1998, it has periodically featured competitions of the PBR's annual Built Ford Tough Series tournament.
Locally known as The Pond from the time when its sponsor was Arrowhead Water, the Honda Center remains primarily an ice arena. But the facility also hosts concerts and other entertainment. In a mere five hours, Honda Center is transformed from a sporting arena to a concert venue. Such diverse acts as the Harlem Globetrotters, World Wrestling Entertainment, and Stars On Ice continue to charm visitors, while musical entertainers Tina Turner, Jonas Brothers, Shania Twain, and Rolling Stones have captivated and enthralled concert-goers in this most flexible of settings.
Conveniently located three miles from Disneyland and across the 57 freeway from Anaheim Stadium, walk to the Honda Center from the stadium's Amtrak and Metrolink stations.
