- The array of 50 some seasoned and accomplished musicians will perform on five stages at the Big Squeeze, the 3rd Annual Orange County Accordion Festival on Sunday, October 9th, 2011 at the Orange County Market Place in Costa Mesa. But the public at large, however, might share a bit of shame in their ties to the accordion. The accordion has been the butt of many jokes, those who play are considered nerdy and the instrument is often slimly perceived as a polka music instrument from Lawrence Welk days.

- The Lord of the Rings In Concert: The Fellowship of the Ring will be performed on October 15th, 2011 at Honda Center. The show features Howard Shore's entire Academy and Grammy Award-winning three-hour score performed live on-stage by more than 200 musicians, and the film projected on an immense 60-foot screen. Celebrated Maestro Ludwig Wicki, the preeminent conductor of Howard Shore's Ring music, will conduct all performances and the music is performed live by the combined forces of the Munich Symphony Orchestra, Pacific Chorale, and Phoenix Boys Choir.

- Nintendo is celebrating the 25th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda video game series in style, confirming that The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony Concert will be held October 21st, 2011 at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles, and will include songs from the iconic series hand-picked by Nintendo composer Koji Kondo and his team. A 70-piece orchestra will be joined by a choir to perform new arrangements of a variety of songs from the series' 25-year history.

- The Native Voices First Annual Short Play Festival at the Autry is a brand new event featuring staged readings of selected short plays and one acts during the American Indian Arts Marketplace. The theme for this year's inaugural play festival is Indians in America: What You See is What You Get inviting a variety of stories from hilarious comedies to compelling dramas. In addition, come see which of these plays will be selected by a panel of judges for the 2011 Award for Excellence in Playwriting, a $1,000 cash prize! The event will take place on Saturday, November 5th, 2011.

- LA Opera will throw its first ever open house on Saturday, November 5th, 2011 from 9:30am to 5pm in celebration of their 25th Anniversary. This is their largest-ever community event, featuring a series of exciting performances, behind-the-scenes tours and activities taking place throughout the theater. Among the festivities planned are two concerts jointly conducted by Maestro Domingo and Richard Seaver Music Director James Conlon featuring soloists from our Domingo-Thornton Young Artist Program performing with the LA Opera Orchestra.
