The California Wine Festival Orange County will take place over three events at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel Terrace Salon & Grand Ballroom, and the Doheny State Beach in Dana Point. The 2011 festival will take place on Friday, April 29th & Saturday, April 30th, 2011.

Friday, April 29th, 2011 is the Riedel Wine Glass Seminar & Tasting from 4:30-6pm at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel Terrace Salon. Learn how the shape and size of the glass effects the perception of the wine on the palate. This educational and fun seminar and wine tasting will be conducted by an expert from the world famous Riedel Glassware Company, preeminent wine glassware manufacturer. Each attendee will receive their own set (to take home) of four varietal specific wine glasses (valued at $123) for the seminar/tasting.

Friday, April 29th, 2011 is the Sunset Rare & Reserve Wine Tasting from 6:30-9pm at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel Grand Ballroom. Some wines being poured are no longer in distribution; some are proprietor's reserves and end-of-vintage wines. A champagne reception greets guests who may be treated to Napa trophy cabs, rare bottles from Sonoma, Santa Cruz and Sierra Mtn. areas, the red-hot Central Coast, and Pinots from Santa Barbara County and more. Top regional chefs will serve hot and cold appetizers while live bluesy jazz keeps things super cool. Advance tickets are $99, at the door tickets are $125.

Saturday, April 30th, 2011 is the Beachside Wine Festival from 1-4pm at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point. Get unlimited tastings of fine wine & foods, plus sun, sea and music provided by popular Caribbean band "Upstream." Sip hundreds of vintage California wines, sample dozens of hot and cold gourmet appetizers, artisan breads and cheeses, fresh cut fruits, and for a change of taste, sample local and regional craft brews too. Ticket price includes an 18 oz keepsake wine glass. Advance tickets are $65, at the gate tickets are $75.
