Let's be honest: who can resist a shopping center with over 1.4 million square feet of retail space? As the second largest mall in Los Angeles County, the massive Glendale Galleria tempts visitors due to its sheer immensity. With three levels of retailers, eateries, and novelties, it doesn't soar too far beyond prerequisites such as the Gap and Hot Dog on a Stick, although some of its offerings manage to scale the heights of consumer fancy.

Just ten miles north of downtown LA, the Galleria hosts over 200 vendors which range from Build-A-Bear to Brookstone. Some of the most prominent are Nordstrom, Macy's, J.C. Penny's, and the first three-story Target in the U.S. With a store directory that follows great American tradition, both the Disney Store and Panda Express debuted here. Basic brands such as American Eagle Outfitters, Banana Republic, Express, and Nine West anchor an array of specialty shops featuring jewelry, eyewear, gadgets, and luggage. High-enders such as Juicy Couture, Michael Kors, Sephora, and Williams-Sonoma Grand Cuisine have also set up shop, rounding out the mall's ample provisions.

In addition to shopping, there's plenty to eat at the Galleria as well. Like all great malls should, the Galleria makes room for an obligatory Mrs. Field's and a Cinnabon, then throws in its own In-N-Out Burger to upgrade curb appeal. Other full-scale restaurants located in the mall are Red Robin, Todai Restaurant, and Nordstrom Café. Simultaneously, the food court hawks gelato, noodles, pizza, cupcakes, pita sandwiches, and more with its international selection of concessions.

If you find yourself with kids in tow, a children's play area tops the list of many family-friendly options. The Galleria also includes a tailor, hand spa, optometrist, and even valet parking in case you find yourself in a pesky travel-related bind. And don't forget to consult the Galleria's website before you go — you'll discover current sales and coupons, to ensure that you find the best deals on your trip.
