Armani. Dior. Jimmy Choo. Prada. Tiffany and Co. Yves Saint-Laurent. If these names send chills down your spine, then Rodeo Drive is a dream come true. The place where Julia Roberts famously shopped in Pretty Woman, this luxurious shopping destination is also a world-famous tourist attraction.
If you'd rather not heavily damage your pocketbook, Rodeo Drive is still a great place for window-shopping and people watching. With more than 100 high-end boutiques and hotels, you are almost guaranteed to see breathtaking fashion and observe the rich and famous who can afford the hefty price tags. The infamous Saks Fifth Avenue where Winona Ryder got into a bit of trouble is located nearby, on Wilshire Boulevard.
But the attractions are not only of the retail variety. Every Father's Day (the third Sunday of June), Rodeo Drive is blocked off for "Concours d'Elegance," a vintage car show that is free to the public. Around 75 classic and vintage automobiles are featured each year, further enhancing Rodeo Drive's reputation as a place of untold luxury, extravagance, and exorbitance – unaffordable for the vast majority of visitors, but piquant nonetheless.
