  • Dole Park and the Four Seasons Convention Center will host the 3rd Annual Ho’okupu Hula No Lana’i Festival, taking place from October 6th - 8th, 2011. This is a Hawaiian cultural festival that will include, song, dance, food, crafts and dancing. This event is a mix of free demonstrations and ticketed dance performances taking place at the convention center. On Thursday October 6th, 2011 from 4:30pm - 9:30pm, Polihua, slack key guitar master Cyril Pahinui, and others will open the festivities for an evening of free family fun at Dole Park.

  • Composer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Taj Mahal is one of the most prominent and influential figures in late 20th century blues and roots music. He'll be performing at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center's Castle Theater on Friday, October 14th, 2011 at 7:30pm. Admission starts at $40. Though his career began more than four decades ago with American blues, he has broadened his artistic scope over the years to include music representing virtually every corner of the world – West Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe and the Hawaiian Islands.
