Located on the Hudson River across from the former site of the World Trade Center, the World Financial Center today is a face of the Manhattan skyline. The four towers of this crystalline building complex encase such large names in business as American Express, Dow Jones, and Merrill Lynch.

The center's designer, C├ęsar Pelli, is regarded as the late 20th century's architect of choice for the creation of gleaming building facades and soaring city towers. Each of the World Financial Center's four towers has a geometrically distinct rooftop: a pyramid, a dome, and two different square setbacks. For his signature style, Pelli is considered one of the ten most influential living architects in America.

The most resplendent part of the World Financial Center is the Winter Garden. The glorious 10-story dome, after suffering extensive damage from the September 11th attacks, was restored with 2,000 panes of glass and 60,000 square feet of Italian marble. It houses more than a dozen towering Washingtonian Palms and other flora, and the transparent faces lend a view of the construction at the World Trade Center site at one end, and open to a spectacular view of the Hudson River at the other.

The courtyard of the Gardens hosts the biggest year-round free showcase of the arts on the East Coast. Galleries including exhibits and live performances of dance and theater. Anticipate concerts of all kinds ranging from Romanian gypsy bands to the New York City Opera in one of New York City's most attractive performance venues.
