From the Motley Crue to Britney Spears, the events and concerts at the Hammerstein Ballroom are numerous. Known for a lavish, elegant look, out-of-control sound system, and even more astounding acts, Hammerstein is broadly considered one of the best locales to go to see a performance, as well as one of the most family-friendly.

Built in 1906 by Oscar Hammerstein, it was originally designed as an opera house and was in fact named Manhattan Opera House. Due to competition, it ceased operating as an opera venue in 1910, and was then used for a variety of events and performances, such as a town hall meeting place and a movie house. It wasn't until 1997 that it was renovated and became Hammerstein Ballroom.

Now the Hammerstein Ballroom is used for alternative rock, pop, and rap concerts, plus other events like NASCAR or wrestling award ceremonies. The venue can hold about 3,000 people seated, and 3,000 standing; it has two main balconies and six other shallow balconies, so no one has a bad seat. The Ballroom also has great acoustics, due to its opera house past, along with a powerful sound system. If you look up, you can enjoy the frolicking angels painted above your head.
