Valastro, born into an Italian family in Hoboken, started to bake at an early age. He was inspired by his father, who was a baker and who taught his son most of his skills. When his father passed away in 1964, Valastro took on the responsibility of maintaining and expanding Carlo's Bakery. In the 10,000 sq.-foot bakery, he and his staff create thousands of eye catching and tasty treats each week.
If you thought chocolate and vanilla were the only choices for cake, Valastro has proven you wrong. You can customize your cake with any flavor of cake, filling, icing, and fresh fruit. Some of Valastro's recommendations include Red Velvet Cake with Vanilla or Cream Cheese icing, Devils Food Cake with Chocolate Ganache and fresh raspberries, and Black and White Cake with chocolate fudge.
