Tropfest, the world’s largest short film festival, will take place in New York City on Saturday, June 23rd, 2012 at NYC's Bryant Park, located in midtown on Sixth Avenue between West 40th and West 42nd Street. Tropfest New York is open to the public and free of charge. An industry and celebrity panel will judge the selected short film finalists – each made specifically for the event – live and under the stars.
During the final awards ceremony, the panel will announce the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners as well as awards for Best Actor and Best Actress.- View Event >

One of many New Yorkers favorite Summer festivities is the Bryant Park Film Festival, which takes place Mondays from June 18th through August 20th, 2012. The gravel surrounding the lawn opens at 4pm, and the lawn opens at 5pm, but get there early if you want a seat. Blankets are allowed, and so are food and beverages. Just make sure to bring plastic cups. No chairs, tables, dogs, plastic sheets, tarps, bags, or pads are permitted on the lawn.

The Cultural Services of the French Embassy and the City of New York Parks & Recreation announce the return of its popular free outdoor series of French screenings. For the fifth consecutive year, Films on the Greenwill present French films in New York City parks in June and July, as well as a special screening at Columbia University in September. The event will run from June 1st - September 6th, 2012.
