BookExpo America (BEA) is bringing back New York Book & Media Week to take place during the week of BEA. New York Book & Media Week will include public "main stage" author programs as well as smaller events at libraries in the NYPL system and chain and independent bookstores throughout New York City and its boroughs. The upcoming New York Book Week is scheduled for June 4th - 8th, 2012.

Marking his first New York show, chef, author, and host of the Travel Channel’s No Reservations & The Layover, Anthony Bourdain visits the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House for one night only. Bourdain shares candid and sometimes hilarious insights about his life’s work and travels, with an open Q&A with the audience to follow. The event will take place on Saturday, June 9th, 2012 at 7:30pm.
Bourdain has been dubbed “the bad boy of cuisine” for his rock-star look and blunt observations about the world of restaurants, chefs, and cooking.- View Event >

For the first time ever, selections from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein manuscript will be available for public viewing in the United States in this exciting exhibition, which is being shown in collaboration with the Bodleian Library at Oxford University in England and will highlight the literary and cultural legacy of P.B. and Mary Shelley, and that of her parents, William Godwin and Mary Wollstonecraft.
