Joseph V. Melillo, executive producer of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, announced programming for the BAM 2012 Winter/Spring Season, which runs from January 10th through June 3rd, 2012. The season comprises nine theater, dance, and nouveau cirque engagements and features BAMcinématek series, BAMcafé Live weekend music events, artist talks, visual art exhibitions, and literary events.

Justin Bieber will be performing a free concert at Rockefeller Plaza as part of the TODAY 2012 Summer Concert Series on Friday, June 15th, 2012. Viewing is on a first-come, first-served basis outside TODAY's window-on-the-world studio, located at 49th Street and Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. Fans should arrive by 6 a.m. for best viewing.

An Open Rehearsal is a fascinating opportunity to watch the New York Philharmonic at work, and see how a piece of music is shaped and polished by the conductor and the musicians. Open Rehearsals begin at 9:45am (except where noted) in Avery Fisher Hall, and end at approximately 12:30pm (sometimes extending to 1pm, at the discretion of the conductor). Open rehearsals will run from September 21st, 2011 - June 20th, 2012.
Tickets are $18 each and an be ordered online, by phone, by mail, by fax, or in person at the Avery Fisher Hall Box Office.- View Event >

New York Grand Opera will present two free Puccini performances in Central Park’s Naumburg Bandshell. Tosca is set for Wednesday, June 27th, 2012 and Madama Butterfly is set for Wednesday, July 18th, 2012. Both shows begin at 7:30pm.

- New York Philharmonic: PHILHARMONIC 360 at the Park Avenue Armory: June 29 & 30, 2012

In two epic evenings, the New York Philharmonic will explore the spatial qualities of the Armory’s soaring, 55,000-square-foot Wade Thompson Drill Hall with four iconic works in which the orchestra members surround the audience. The centerpiece of the evening will be the rarely-performed Gruppen by Karlheinz Stockhausen—a work that requires three orchestras and three conductors. Also on the program are Pierre Boulez’s Rituel in Memoriam Bruno Maderna, the Finale of Act I from Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni, and Charles Ives’ The Unanswered Question.- View Event >
