Santa's Winter Garden at the World Financial Center: December 9 - 11, 2011

New York City's kids will be treated to a weekend of Santa and stories when Arts World Financial Center hosts a three-day holiday celebration featuring photos with Santa and free readings of holiday and kid-friendly tales.
From Friday, December 9th through Sunday, December 11th, 2011, Santa will bring his elves along for his annual stay at Santa's Winter Garden, posing for photos with kids and listening to their Christmas wish lists.
On December 10th and 11th, during Santa's midday break from 1pm to 2pm, The New York Public Library's Battery Park City branch will provide books for a free Holiday Story Time, with classic holiday tales such as How the Grinch Stole Christmas and A Charlie Brown Christmas as well as new favorites like Olive, The Other Reindeer and Fancy Nancy: Splendiferous Christmas.
The stories have been selected by the Brooke Jackman Foundation, a non-profit organization that promotes literacy for at-risk children in the greater New York area. Proceeds from the Santa's Winter Garden photo sales will benefit the ten-year-old organization.
The weekend is part of the World Financial Center’s month-long holiday festival of dance, music, theater, and storytelling, which includes free performances by the New York Theatre Ballet, the Brooklyn Youth Chorus, the National Yiddish Theatre-Folksbiene, and more.
