Winter Jam NYC: February 4, 2012

Presented by the NYC Parks Department, Prospect Park Alliance, and the Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA), Winter Jam NYC is a free annual winter sports festival that encourages New Yorkers to get out and enjoy the outdoors in the colder months. Their partners at ORDA will be blowing lots of fresh snow, so there will be plenty to go around! The upcoming event will take place on Saturday, February 4th, 2012.
The event features the following venues: Lake Placid Snow Field Cross-Country Skiing, Snowshoeing, Red Bull Butter Cup, Learn to Ride: Skiing and Snowboarding, Warming Hut with Pride of New York Vendors and more! For more information, visit: www.nycgovparks.org/highlights/festivals/winter-jam

@Moly: Yes unfortunately it was cancelled this year. It looks as if you'll have to wait until next year. Here's the blurb from the parks dept. site:
"Due to the unusually warm weather, the Parks Department has had to cancel Winter Jam 2012. It is too warm to make snow which was the foundation for almost all of the planned activities."
"We hope that next winter’s weather patterns are frostier!"
