Floating majestically on the Camden waterfront, the USS New Jersey, one of the U.S. Navy's most celebrated battleships, overlooks the stunning Philadelphia skyline. This historic ship was built at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard and launched on December 7, 1942. Commissioned for service in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, the USS New Jersey served courageous sailors for almost 50 years until its final decommission in 1991and reopened as a museum and memorial honoring her rich history and distinguished career in October 2001. Its features include interactive tours that accommodate groups of all sizes, rental opportunities for special events, and a chance to spend a memorable night in an authentic U.S. Navy battleship.

In a City at Sea Tour, duck and bend your way through cramped medical facility doorways, congested post office passageways, and other tight spaces generally not seen by the public to experience the everyday life of a sailor. Undergo firsthand the Battle for Iwo Jima through a 4D Flight Simulator, engaging in a fight in enemy territory and experiencing a breathtaking landing in the ocean. Step back in time and live the authentic navy life in an overnight encampment program in which groups of up to 300 can sleep in bunks, purchase personalized "Dog Tags," and store belongings in the same lockers that held the sailors' gear. No matter how you spend your time aboard the Battleship New Jersey, its rich history, impressive size, and awe-inspiring views are an unforgettable experience.
