Center City Winter Restaurant Week kicks off this Sunday, January 16th, 2011, featuring over 50 restaurants in Rittenhouse Square, Center City, Old City, South Street and more.

Eat from gourmet Prix-Fixe menus for $20 (lunch) and $35 (dinner). Participating restaurants include: Amuse - Le Meridien Hotel, Devon Seafood Grill, Haru Sushi, GiGi Restaurant & Lounge, M Restaurant at the Morris House Hotel, Smith & Wollensky Steakhouse, Ruth's Chris Steak House and Bistro 7 - to name a few.

Avalon Restaurant, a Rustic Italian BYOB in West Chester, is hosting a 5-course pasta dinner on Tuesday, November 9. Avalon Sous Chef Barry Salop has created a menu highlighting fresh, homemade pasta in every course - including chocolate pasta for dessert. But, the real icing on the cake, is the charitable aspect of the evening. Guests who donate a gently-used coat will receive a $20 discount. Avalon Restaurant will donate the coats to those in need. Tis the season of ghouls and ghosts and if you like being scared out of your gourd, it's time for you to take a trip the Eastern State Penitentiary for the Terror Behind the Walls scare-a-poolooza.  The Eastern State Penitentiary is already one creepy place, having been one of the world's most notorious prisons for 150 years or so, and on top of that they have six different attractions with every intention of getting your heart racing with fear.  And after having a look at their website, it looks as though they will probably succeed.  But if you think you are pretty tough, you can also enter to take a visit into the penitentiary alone, and if you are chosen you have the chance to win prizes and an opportunity to spend the night in the prison with five guests.  So if you have five friends that you really don't like, this would probably be a great idea.  BOO! Philly Mini Golf at Franklin Square
