The Christmas Village in Philadelphia is an outdoor Holiday market event held at Love Park in Center City, Philadelphia from Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve - November 24th - December 24th, 2011. Vendors in more than 50 wooden booths offer European food, sweets and drinks as well as international holiday gifts, ornaments and high quality arts and crafts. Thousands of lighted trees and booths will illuminate Love Park and set the tone for the Holiday Season.

The municipal Christmas Tree- lighted by Mayor Nutter in the traditional tree lighting ceremony, as well as daily live performances of local choirs, orchestras, and a unique life-size Advent calendar are just some of the attractions this year’s Christmas Village will host.

On Saturday, November 25th the original Nuremberg Christkind from Germany will open the Christmas Village in a traditional ceremony. The following Saturdays will be highlighted by events and performances such as a Charity fundraiser for “Play on, Philly!” (December 3rd) and German-American Day (December 10th). Enjoy a day of food, fun, and family on Sundays where children can visit the face painter and balloon artists or tell Santa their wishes in his little house. The Christmas Village in Philadelphia offers visitors of all ages a unique shopping and cultural experience in a beautiful, Christmassy atmosphere.
