Located in the heart of Center City, Nodding Head Brewery & Restaurant has won more beer competition awards than it knows what to do with. Venture up the narrow flight of stairs to the second story of 1516 Samson Street and you will soon discover why. Nodding Head offers the classic cheerful pub environment, complete with good music, great service, and a huge dartboard. What sets it apart is its impressive collection of smirking bobble heads, from Cheech and Chong to the Ramones; its creative take on traditional pub fare and use of local ingredients; and of course, its flavorful home-brewed beer. Favorites include Grog, a malty English-style brown ale, and the smooth-tasting 60 Shilling. For something very different, try the spunky, Asian-influenced Monkey Knife Fight, complete with hints of lemongrass and ginger.
