This four-story mall is located between 8th and 12th St., situated right on busy Market St. between Old City and Center City. The stores consist of everything one would expect to find in any conventional mall, ranging from Sunglass Hut and Auntie Anne's pretzels to Kmart and Cinnabon. There are sprawling department stores such as Burlington Coat Factory and Old Navy, as well as two massive food courts and even a Walgreens for all of your basic needs. Among the 130 stores inside the shopping site are GNC, Footlocker, Hallmark, Payless, Radio Shack, Wet Seal, Liberty Travel, and Modell's Sporting Goods. Traditional kiosks line the mall interior and "the Gallery's" tall ceilings with skylights are a refreshing change from the standard fluorescent lighting of typical shopping arenas. Over 40,000 people pass through the mall each day -- if only to check out the centrally located vertical 3D mural starring Ben Franklin and, more importantly, Philly native Bill Cosby. The position of the shopping center is opportune for visitors, as it is located merely blocks away from the Liberty Bell and Independence Mall and is adjacent to the Pennsylvania Convention Center, which often holds special events and shows. An interactive store directory is available on its website, and gift cards can be purchased, as well.
