Downtown Portland is the way to go if you are up to no good on a Saturday night. From upscale to downright weird, lounges, clubs and bars swarm with all kinds of crazy. But it's not hard to find a place that will fit your taste, especially with so much frothy beer.
If it is culture you desire, Aladdin Theater hosts great concerts, but has a naughty history. The Northwest Film Center offers a random selection of classic films. And you can't go wrong with the Portland Center for the Performing Arts for theater, ballet and lectures.
Feed your appetite for food and fun at Kells Irish Restaurant and Pub, where live music and a cigar room create an old world ambiance. Or check out Sauce Box, a favorite among the locals, yet nationally recognize for its pan-Asian cuisine and modern vibe. Blue hour, one of Portland's most celebrated and expensive dining experiences, of course, requires reservations.
After dinner, do the Portland thang—go to a pub/theater. Laurelhurst Theater and Mission Hill offers excellent beer in combination with movies. McMenamin's one-ups them with several locations, concerts and dancing.
