Rare is the day in San Diego where conditions aren't perfect for a great golf game, and San Diego's course lineup takes full advantage of nature's bounty, featuring over 90 courses across the region in every imaginable setting. Considered "One of the Top 50 Golf Destinations in the World" by Golf Digest, San Diego is a trend-setter among trend-setters.

The City of San Diego Park & Recreation Department operates three municipal golf courses: Torrey Pines, Balboa Park and Mission Bay Golf Course and Practice Center.

Torrey Pines Golf Course - Complementing the world-famous Torrey Pines Golf Course is a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean. Home of the Buick Invitational PGA TOUR event, Torrey Pines ranks as the "best" place to golf in a readers' poll with the San Diego Union-Tribune and San Diego Magazine, as well as one of the top ten golf courses in San Diego County according to Golf Industry Online. Torrey Pines is the only municipal course in the "best course" listing for the state. Phone: 619-570-1234

Balboa Golf Course - Balboa Park Golf Course is located near the heart of Downtown San Diego. The facility features an 18 hole championship course and a nine hole executive course. All 27 greens were recently renovated and new cart paths were added. The 18-hole course features views of both San Diego and Coronado. Phone: 619-239-1660

Mission Bay Golf Course - The City of San Diego Park and Recreation Department recently took over management of Mission Bay Golf Course and Practice Center, a 45.3-acre, 2,719-yard, 18-hole executive golf course. Mission Bay Golf Course is located at 2702 North Mission Bay Drive and is the only lit course in the City, allowing for play after dark. Phone: 858-581-7880
