The San Diego coast lies along the superhighway of whale migration, with 200 gray whales passing by each day during their 10,000 mile journey from the Arctic Sea to Baja California and back. That's 26,000 whales each year, a number that almost guarantees a whale sighting.

San Diego whale watching season is from December through March. Whale watching excursions leave San Diego regularly during the gray whale migration season, so make sure you book your whale watching trip before you arrive in San Diego.

You can chose from a variety of whale watching excursions in San Diego, from private charters to guided kayak trips and sailing adventures.
