Almost anyone can get hold of a kayak, gaining an excellent vantage point to view San Diego's beautiful waterways. You can rent individual kayaks to take out on your own, or go on a kayak tour with an experienced guide, but whatever your fancy, San Diego offers everything imaginable for the kayak adventurist.
Mission Bay - The bay has calm waters and is great for not only beginners but experts who can enjoy the beauty and wildlife. You might spot sea lions, sea birds, and sometimes even see the penguins at SeaWorld.
La Jolla Sea Caves - Arguably the most picturesque and beautiful place on the San Diego coast, the La Jolla Sea Caves is one of the most popular places to kayak in San Diego. Watch for spot seals, sea lions and dolphins.
La Jolla Shores - This is the spot to finally see a whale, so long as you're kayaking between December and March when they migrate from Alaska to their birthing grounds in Baja, Mexico.
