Point Loma is the hilly and green peninsula draped over the entrance to the San Diego Harbor, and as such was the location where the first Europeans landed in California. The Cabrillo National Monument and the 150-year-old Point Loma Lighthouse are the main historic attractions here, but the most spectacular feature is the view. From the San Diego Bay to the downtown skyscrapers and the coast to Mexico, the 360-degree view from the tip of the peninsula is unique, even among San Diego's many beautiful view spots.
The Point Loma area includes an eclectic assortment of neighborhoods and commercial districts, as well as Ocean Beach with its historic pier.
