You'll be saluting the day when you visit El Capitan Reservoir. This is the largest lake in San Diego, and with water stretching as far as the eye can see, El Capitan is a limitless playground for aquatic fun. Speed it up with a Jet Ski race through the reservoir's obstacle course, or bounce around behind a boat on a wakeboard or tube (summer months only). Swim out or be dropped off on a sand bar, lounge in the sun, or spot wildlife in the mountains while floating down four miles of shoreline. Fishing is allowed all year, and BBQ's are available for public use. Be sure to bring everything you need, because there are no concessions at El Capitan. For camping try Lake Jennings, about 10 miles away.
