Lake Henshaw

Lake Henshaw
Lake Henshaw

Amenities are defiantly included at this lakeside retreat. Henshaw is perfect for less extreme campers; the ones that prefer cabins equipped with heat (and cookware, a hot shower, fridge and coffee maker,) offering a comfortable nature stay at the foot of the Palomar Mountains. The lake is known for fabulous fishing, with largemouth bass, catfish, bluegill and trout all stocked up. Boats are available to rent at the resort, but be sure to bring your own gear. If you really feel like “roughing it,” a sparkling pool and spa, children’s playground, grocery store, clubhouse and laundry facilities complete the list of local amenities. Under the stars camping is also available — and equally enjoyable — along five miles of unspoiled shoreline.

The Henshaw Grill is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, or drive into the quaint nearby town of Julian for more options. Other attractions in the area include the Palomar Mountain Observatory, Temecula Wine Tasting, and Cuyamaca State Park.
