Take a moment to stop and smell the roses at Balboa Park's Inez Grant Parker Memorial Rose Garden, one of Balboa Park's most popular gardens and a highly desirable wedding location. More than 2,500 roses of over 200 different kinds are prominently featured throughout the three-acre garden's premises. While in bloom from March through December, the roses' peak bloom happens during April and May.
Accessing this award-winning floral collection and a designated All-America Rose Selection (AARS) Display Garden is easy, requiring just a stroll across the Park Boulevard pedestrian bridge. Located across from the San Diego Natural History Museum, the Inez Grant Parker Memorial Rose Garden serves as a fine tribute to the rose's everlasting grace.
Roses have long symbolized love and beauty. Some of the greatest literary quotes on love include mention of the rose, and this symbolic tradition is continued in the many weddings held at the garden. Not only is the garden full of roses, but it also provides the setting for countless celebrations of love and commitment.
Since its 1975 opening, thousands of visitors have been drawn to the garden's beautiful romantic atmosphere, vivid imagery, and sweetly perfumed air.
