Attending the San Diego Symphony in historic Copley Hall affords a majestic, old-world experience. French Rococo and Spanish Colonial style architecture blend to create a lush space worthy of one of the nation's top orchestras. The Symphony conducts over 100 concerts each season, with a wide range of repertoire designed to appeal to all ages and styles.
Summertime brings all of San Diego outside, including the Symphony. Every year, from July through September, the Symphony presents a Summer Pops season at the Embarcadero Marina Park South. Popular music is mixed with classical favorites during a festive series of concerts right on the waterfront. The long days of summer just got even better, and the giddy mixture of music and stars will leave you with a song in your heart.
The San Diego Symphony is committed to community outreach and cultural education. If you're new to the scene, conductor Nuvi Mehta (hailed as "charming and informative") hosts a series of concerts throughout the season designed to introduce the public to the joys of classical music.
A winter program plays a variety of holiday pieces, and has featured several guest artists such as Michael Feinstein, Jennifer Holliday, Ben Vereen, and Robert Klein.
