The 9th annual "Art Around Adams 2012," a music and arts walk along Adams Avenue is set for Saturday, June 2nd, 2012. This free, family-friendly event will showcase an array of local artists, musicians, outrageous street performers, and interactive installations.
Art and music will be spilling out of local businesses and onto the street from Oregon street in Normal Heights to Vista street in Kensington. More than 75 businesses will transform themselves into art galleries and performance arenas for the day.- View Event >

The Mission Hills Town Council puts on an annual 4th of July celebration in Mission Hills with a neighborhood parade that ends up in Pioneer Park. The party continues with games for the kids and live music throughout the afternoon as families picnic in the grass. It is a great way to celebrate the holiday with your neighbors. At night, residents head to the various neighborhood vista points to watch the fireworks light up the bay. To mark 20 years at its current location along Expedition Way in La Jolla, Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego, is offering San Diego County residents half-off admission on the 20th of every month through the aquarium's anniversary month of September 2012.
The special deal is valid for residents living in zip codes 91901-92199. Visitors must show a valid ID with the zip code to receive the offer (limit two children per paid adult; cannot be combined with other offers). Any active duty, activated or drilling reservist, or National Guardsman is entitled to free admission to SeaWorld Parks under the Here's to the Heroes program. The offer is valid through December 31st, 2012.

- Free Living History Events in Old Town State Park All Year Long: Through December 31, 2012

February may be museum month in San Diego but Old Town San Diego State Historic Park has more than 10 free museums open to the public year-round. These museums have ongoing living history activities every Wednesday and Saturday from 10am - 4pm to educate the public about what life was like in San Diego in the 1800s. The park also hosts free tours daily at 11am - 2pm that begin at the Robinson-Rose Visitor Center.
