It’s been 17 years since the birth of sham ROCK and now lucky number 17 falls on a Saturday and sham ROCK is destined to be the biggest Irish Celebration on the West Coast when over 20,000 Irish revelers hit the streets of the Gaslamp. The 17th Annual sham ROCK 2012 presented by Jameson and The Field will take place on the most sacred party day of the year, St. Patrick’s Day, Saturday, March 17th, 2012 from 2pm until Midnight.
They are pulling out all the stops for this year’s Festival as they re-create a 150 foot Irish Pub on the streets of the Gaslamp, turn the streets green with over 80,000 square feet of green Astroturf and transform the Gaslamp Quarter with a lighting show into an urban, super chic version of the rolling hills of Ireland! Everybody knows that sham ROCK is the party and this year it is going to live up to the “ROCK” in sham ROCK with three stages of live entertainment.
The Field Irish Stage will feature the Young Dubliners, Irish Rock, Irish Punk Rock and other Irish favorites. Fifth Avenue and F Street will feature the new Electronica stage with the most sexy, crazy sounds that will trance you into an Irish haze. The final stage will be located next to the 150 foot Irish pub that will be built on the street and will play host to over 25 Irish river dancers and your favorite San Diego and Los Angeles DJs.
Dublin will have nothing on this pub, which will have plenty of Jameson Irish Whisky mixed up to concoct any of your favorite St. Paddy’s Day libations. sham ROCK will once again take place on “F” Street between 5th and 7th Avenues and 6th Avenue between E and G Streets and G Street between 5th and 6th Avenues in the Gaslamp Quarter.
sham ROCK will have three ticket prices with advance prices of $35, $40 and $45 at the door and your wristband into sham ROCK will also get you in and out privileges, as well as, no cover and food and drink specials at dozens of the Gaslamp Quarter’s hottest nightclubs and restaurants.
