- Kumu Hula Patrick Makuakane and his award-winning dance troupe, Na Lei Hulu I Ka Wekiu, are set to return to the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre October 15th - 23rd, 2011 with six performances of The Hula Show 2011. With stops in India, Samoa, Turkey, Spain, and Wai'anae, The Hula Show 2011 takes attendees on a global tour of dance and song. The trip is rounded out with Hanohano Kapalakiko, a suite of chants that celebrate the indelible bond and long historical ties between Hawai'i and San Francisco.

Ballet America presents The Nutcracker on Friday, December 2nd, 2011. This Nutcracker is a rousing hometown favorite that plays to sold-out audiences every year--it's also a condensed production that is sure to keep Dad and kids awake! In this production, you will see former principal dancers of Joffrey Ballet (Maia Wilkens and Michael Levine in the roles of Sugar Plum Fairy and Cavalier) dance with a cast of nearly 100 charming local dancers of all ages.
