The 48th Annual Big Book Sale at Fort Mason Center is set to take place September 19 - 23, 2012. Held at Fort Mason Center’s Festival Pavilion, the sale features over 500,000 books, DVDs, CDs, books on tape, vinyl and other forms of media, 10,000 boxes of materials, 50+ categories and over 400 volunteers. Everything is $4 or less, kids books are $1 or less every day and ALL books are $1 on Sunday.
All proceeds from the Big Book Sale benefit the San Francisco Public Library’s literacy programs for children, teens and adults. - View Event >

KPFA 94.1 FM Presents: Rachel Maddow "Drift" on Friday, April 13th, 2012 at 8:00pm at King Middle School in Berkeley. Rachel Maddow will discuss her new book, Drift, answer questions, and sign books. Rachel Maddow has hosted the Emmy Award-winning Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC since 2008. Before that, she was at Air America Radio for the duration of that underappreciated enterprise. The Bay Area Anarchist Book Fair is a free two-day event put on every year by Bound Together Bookstore in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. This book fair brings together radical booksellers, distributors, independent presses and political groups from around the world. Held at Fort Mason Center’s Festival Pavilion, the San Francisco Library Spring Book Sale will feature over 400,000 books, DVDs, CDs, books on tape, vinyl and other forms of media in over 100 categories--that is 25% more than our last Spring Sale! The event will run from March 29th - April 1st, 2012 from 10am - 6pm.
