This is not your average mall. On the bottommost floor lies an international cuisine food court; at the very top sits a Century Theatre multiplex. Extending from the ground level is Bloomingdale's' West Coast flagship store. In the middle and continuing to the top is the second-largest Nordstrom in the nation. Throughout the entire center, you'll discover stores belonging to both designer and affordable brands. Combine all these factors, and you get Westfield's San Francisco Centre, a premiere location for shopping, entertainment, and dining.
Conveniently located downtown, the original San Francisco Shopping Centre opened in 1988 and contains stores like American Eagle Outfitters, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Express, along with food court staples like Jamba Juice and Panda Express. The mall made history by installing the first spiral escalators in the United States leading up to Nordstrom on the uppermost levels. In 2003, the owner of an adjoining property teamed with the Westfield Group to renovate both properties into a one-stop spot for everything a San Franciscan could possibly need. In 2006, they unveiled their $460 million-dollar masterpiece. The two properties stand together as the third largest shopping centre in the nation and offer a myriad of possibilities. High-end shoppers can flock to Calvin Klein, Juicy Couture, Kenneth Cole, and True Religion. Teenagers can peruse at H&M, Hollister, and Wet Seal. Anyone can browse at Bath and Body Works, Borders, Foot Locker, and Sunglass Hut. Physically separated but connected through pathways, both buildings' assets speak for themselves. If the stores aren't enough, the center will charm you with its restored famous dome, plush white couches, and children's playrooms.
The San Francisco Centre offers excellent service (waiters in the food court, not just the restaurants!) and variety, presented in a stylish package. Constantly packed with tourists and locals, the mall's enormous size is also perfect for a game of Hide and Seek. Go ahead. Shop, eat, and enjoy yourself too.
