Hailed on numerous “top 10 places to celebrate Oktoberfest in the world” lists, Fremont Oktoberfest takes over two entire city blocks in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood – the “Center of the Universe” – September 20-22, 2013.
“It’s Fremont Oktoberfest,” says Creative Director Phil Megenhardt. “So we add an eccentric Fremont-twist to this famous tradition. That’s why we stand out. We have a huge lineup of award-winning microbrews to go beyond traditional German beer, we give a nod to the German “oompah” bands but favor popular local rock bands, and we even have Texas Chainsaw Pumpkin Carving!”
Featuring the biggest beer garden in the Northwest, Fremont Oktoberfest has over 100 craft and microbrews for guests to taste with their 5oz mini-steins, and for the traditionalists, full liter steins for German beers are available in the Buxom Beer Garden. “Autumn brings an abundance of seasonal beer flavors that we can’t wait to showcase,” says Megenhardt.
The all-ages family-friendly Village features food trucks, Kids’ Area, Chainsaw Pumpkin Carving, Sunday Dogtoberfest, and its own Village Beer Garden. It is also the finish line for the Fremont Oktoberfest 5K, playfully referred to as “the Ultimate Beer Run.”
“Tens of thousands of people come raise a toast and celebrate in the streets of Fremont,” says Megenhardt. “We’re number one in the universe. Seattle’s fall tradition is not to be missed!”
Tickets to the Fremont Oktoberfest Tasting Garden are available now, $20 and up for guests 21 and over. The Fremont Oktoberfest Village is free and all-ages.
