One of the most symbolic and evocative memorials in the country, the United States Air Force Memorial visibly takes off, its three spires painting an arc in the sky. The memorial, completed in 2006, honors those who have served in the United States Air Force, 54,000 of which have died in combat.

The memorial is comprised of three spires, the tallest reaching 270 feet, representing the three core values of the Air Force - integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all that is done – as well as the Air Force's total force - active, guard and reserve. Below the spires is an Air Force star embedded in granite, the symbol of the Air Force and the logo found on every Air Force aircraft.

The memorial is located in Arlington, Virginia overlooking the Pentagon and adjacent to Arlington Cemetery.
