Hillwood Museum and Gardens was one of the homes of cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post, and includes a 40-room Georgian mansion and more than 12 acres of fabulously landscaped grounds.

The museum displays Post's large collection of 18th and 19th Century French and Russian decorative art, while the estate grounds feature a traditional Russian dacha, or summer house, filled with Russian artifacts, as well as another cabin housing Native American art objects.

The gardens include a wide range of styles, such as a formal French garden and a Japanese garden with a waterfall and bridge. More than 5,000 orchids are featured in the many greenhouses. In all, the gardens include 3,500 varieties of plants and trees, with wooded paths that meander throughout.
