The Ballston Business Inprovement District's 26th Annual Taste of Arlington is the largest food+beer+wine+art festival showcasing the diversity of Arlington's food scene and attracting over 15,000 food lovers from all over the region. More than 40 of Arlington's favorite restaurants and most exciting chefs will serve up their specialties at this year's festival and this is your chance to sample them all!

The Mid City Artists Open Studios Event will take place May 18 & 19, 2013. They are a diverse and talented group of professional artists who have come together for the purpose of promoting their art and the Dupont/Logan neighborhoods of Washington DC that they call home.

Once a year CMC members, hailing from almost 50 countries, present an unlimited “sampling” of authentic international vegetarian cuisines. You can take a small serving of hundreds of items and come back for more! Try foods from Africa, Asia Pacific, Caribbean, Europe, India, Latin America, and North America. Amelia Earhart, known as “Lady Lindy,” was an aviation pioneer, and her fame extended far beyond her flying feats. In addition to setting aviation records, she founded a pilots’ organization for women called The Ninety-Nines, championed for the first commercial airline, was a member of the faculty at Purdue University and campaigned for women’s rights.
A new exhibition at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery, “One Life: Amelia Earhart,” will recognize her life and remarkable career with a special focus on her commitment to women’s rights.- View Event >

- Second Annual Guacamole Festival: May 1 - June 30, 2013

Richard Sandoval's vibrant Taqueria and Tequileria, El Centro D.F., introduces its Second Annual Guacamole Festival, the second of four quarterly festivals celebrating Mexican cooking. The Guacamole Festival will run May 1st through June 30th and will feature different flavors that highlight various regional experiences. Dating back to Aztec times, the traditional Mexican dip was comprised of avocado, onion, chilies, fresh tomato, and salt. Over time, regions of Mexico began mixing local ingredients, creating thousands of variations.- View Event >
